Founder & Managing Member
Known for making the call that gets answered.
Scott has spent his career building businesses, leading teams and creating relationships. He built Potential Enterprises around a pretty simple belief: business gets done between people.
Technology can find names. Databases can build lists. AI can make everybody sound smarter. But when a company needs capital, a buyer or a strategic relationship, knowing who to call, why to call them and how to get them interested still matters.
Scott remains actively involved in PE, evaluating opportunities, working with clients and the PE team, and opening relationships across the network.
And there's one thing Scott and the PE team understand: you're busy, we're busy, and we can't stand wasting time. If we think we can help, we'll tell you. If we don't, we'll tell you that too.
We've got you.
Many PE engagements are success-based. That means our compensation is earned when capital is funded or a transaction successfully closes. The structure is agreed upon in writing before we begin.
It varies by deal. As a general guideline, debt transactions are often around 5% of capital funded. M&A transactions can range from approximately 5%–10% of transaction value.
For equity transactions, fees can be upwards of 10%, depending on the transaction and the registered broker-dealer handling the securities placement. Those equity placement economics are determined through the applicable BD structure, not by PE acting as a securities broker-dealer.
Generally, no.
Generally, no.
We know who to call, how to get the call answered and how to keep everyone moving. No ego. No runaround. No BS.
Generally, you shouldn't be paying duplicate success fees for the same transaction simply because another intermediary is involved.
Sometimes PE has the relationship directly. Other times we work with a trusted intermediary who has the relationship or brings additional relationships to the table.
Depending on the transaction, that intermediary may require its own agreement and may collect the transaction fee. PE and the intermediary determine how the applicable fee is allocated and paid.
Separate lender origination charges, interest, legal fees, diligence, underwriting and other legitimate transaction costs are different and may still apply.
No. Capital providers, investors and buyers make their own decisions. PE cannot guarantee funding, valuation, terms or closing.
Give us the short version. We'll tell you if we think we can help.
